Animation is the imagination laid bare for all to see, our own personal constructed realities shared with others, story telling in it's purest form, or just a bunch of funny shit drawn for people to laugh their arses off to. It's all good.

The Boogley got himself a CAT scan, heres the results!

BLAMM!
Oh, and I'm working on a project at the moment creating animation to be projected at an arts festival in October, that's why I'm not on this site so much at the moment... I've got collab ideas, I'm just waiting to have enough free time, which probably won't be until around christmas.
pootenanny!

CHOMP THE POINTER!!
NO MORE COMPUTERS!!
You see... I'm spending far too much time at the computer...
Where's a damned apocalypse when you need one.

Is it the Boogley?
Is it a Burger?
Nope... It's a... erm... wait a minute... Burgerley!
I made this as an example for animating a sixteen frame morph for teaching an introduction to animation class. The first exercise we do is handrawn using my custom made el cheapo peg boards, which are the same size as a regular hole punch.
(I promise no more food stuff after this)

Okay, here's what I'm thinking...
an animated food collab...
with food moving around and stuff...

The deadline of 23rd of June has come and gone!!
I am now compiling and finalising the movie.
I will be submitting the finished movie on
SUNDAY 29TH of JUNE 6:00pm (Newgrounds Time)
DAILY 3rd!!
FRONT PAGE!!

I've been rotoscoping! This is my dog, Turtle...
I filmed her at 30fps with my digital camera, imported
the .mov video into flash, then traced each frame.
I find this is a great way to learn how she moves.
I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the
footage once it's traced, but I'm learning heaps!
WIGGY-DA-WOOOOooooo!!

He melts, them reforms, then melts!! Over and OVER!!
Posted by TheBoogley Dec. 20, 2007 @ 6:36 AM ESTWhat the hell... Damn you melty man!
I originally made this to be part of a collab, but the collab was supposed to be a funny one, not so much a weird melty faced one.
Perhaps I should start a melting face collab... hmm... I just might be onto something there... What do you think?
EDIT: Due to Popular demand (a whole 10 comments!) I've started the FACE COLLAB! I'm taking entries until Monday the 28th of January! Then I'll smack it all together and chuck it up into the portal to meet it's fate!
EDIT: THE COLLAB IS UP AND YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO WATCH IT!!!

I did a photography workshop a couple of weeks ago on making polaroid transfers, in which you expose then quickly strip apart a polaroid photo before it develops, then use the wet ink from that to make a print. It's fairly complicated stuff, but basically it gives you some really interesting old fashioned effects. This animated gif was made by stripping the top layer of gloss from the exposed polaroid paper (it comes off looking like a temporary tattoo) then pushing it around under a camera taking stop motion shots. The result isn't the most fantastic thing ever, but it does have that interesting yet creepy feel to it, like something out of the ring...

Ahh.. the sweet romance of a candle-lit dinner. Not so romantic when your husband pulls out his camera and starts shooting sequences of the flame. Still, grab yourself a plate of food, a fine wine, and come back to your keyboard for a night of sweet ambient bliss.
