Back in action!

Hey!!

I'm back, refreshed and animating again.

Had a good break, brewed some beer, drew some pictures, played through mario and zelda on the wii, and now it's time to once again sit at a screen drawing pictures into the small hours of the morning.

I'm working on an animation to music which is only going to run for 30 seconds, it'll be kind of like those little segments on the muppets or sesame street. No story, just fun characters dancing around. I've been drawing funny looking characters in my sketchbooks for years, and I think it's time to watch them dance! Coming up with a story to put them in is just too much for these little guys, I just wanna see them move.

So yeah, no collaboration for now... anyway you should all be making parts for the Street Fighter one.

And what's with all these shape animation movies coming out? I leave you guys alone for five minutes... Actually I really like some of them, particularly the Swains one "High Five... Sides".

Here's a gif of a really old animation I did years ago but didn't finish about an elephant and his possessed trunk... Slappity slap!

One day maybe, but I'd have to pretty much start it all over again. I was making it a couple of years ago when i was just starting out, so it's pretty rough. I'd have to draw it all again better, or try to draw badly to keep the style the same... :3

I can't join the Street Fighter Collab, I have yet to finish my Halloween or Christmas movies, even though I already have all the voice parts done.

I did make a shape movie. It took me less than 10 mins. Ahh...it was the lamest thing ever.

You should grab one of those sketchbooks and animate everything that's in there. Trying to give everything its own way of moving and its own personality is a great practice I think.

Hmm, better do that myself sometime :P

I was just rewatching your Bus Stop animation, and it got me wondering...

How do you get the wiggle effect in your animations? Like for backgrounds, where you have them wiggling between 2 frames constantly. Is it with Movieclips, or is there something I don't know about?

Yeah, I have them in a movieclip, and to watch it running while working in Flash I select it and set it to Graphic in the properties menu down the bottom, then tell it to loop all frames. Everything is traced four times which gives it the wriggle...
