Animation is the imagination laid bare for all to see, our own personal constructed realities shared with others, story telling in it's purest form, or just a bunch of funny shit drawn for people to laugh their arses off to. It's all good.

SPINNING DOG :O

Posted by TheBoogley - February 25th, 2009

I found another animator whose work I can't get enough of, and with work similar to the style I'm getting out of raping and pillaging my way though my old sketchbooks for drawings and ideas.
Chad Vangaalen

I made a character model sheet out of the strutting dog character from a few newsposts ago, then thought I'd take the rotating views and inbetween them to spin him around.
Watch him til you vomit!

How cute :3

(I vomited)

vomit is cute
*arf :U

Awwshumm videos man. I like how welly animated the dog is, not to mention he's rotating in a complete 360 degree circle. My dog only spins in a 180 degree circle.

~I love your style :3

my dog humps my other dog, and shes a girl, but we won't get into that.

hmmmm.... I see..... indeed.

well...

i will watch him until HE vomits!!

shouldn't be too long now...

dogspin.com

god i hope that's not a website

sadly no. :(

This dog is awesome, but where's his tail?

that's a story for another time.

microwaving dogs again, huh Boogley

whirrrrrrr... DING

nom nom

very cool dog. you've got such a full understanding of perspective in animation!!

also I ALREADY knew about Chad Vangaalen so there!!1!1111
he's really neat, I think he considers himself a musician first and foremost, but he's a fantastic animator as well and its cool that he does his own music videos.

you know too much and must be silenced before you make me look foolish.

the dog is almost perfect (except for one dodgey foot, but who cares?) i most certainly don't. That must have been so hard to do so congratulations are in order, looking forward to whatever you got coming up next :)

I don't care either, if it was up to me I would've cut the feet off and left it with bloody stumps... wait... it was up to me, so I guess I'm all talk. :3

Every time he spins, it's like there's a new animation!

drugs. too many for you. that's enough.

WOw! I could never do any of that animation... cause I suck at drawing. Although, I tend to think of that sort of stuff all the time in my head. ah well.

soon they'll make it so that you can just show people your thoughts, USB slot in the back of your head?

Your spinning dog is AWESOME and übercute. It always amazes me how nicely you animate your characters making super three dimensional movements while it always looks supersmooth and all at actually rather complicated character designs.

It always amazes me how your amazed by me...
I am just a man with a pencil trying to make his way in the world.

i dont like the style of animatin in the videos.
Does it makes me a bad person

yeah, real bad... so bad that it's good.

I would like it better if It was spinning pie with heat waves over top of it. ;3

mental note, cook the dog. :D

that easing sort of effect arouses me.

woof woof, pant pant, grrooowwl! <3

Did you have any trouble with the feet?

I don't want to talk about it, feet have haunted me for years.

A rather sensual picture if I may say so. Love the way it eases fast and slow as he spins around. Mmmmmmmmm....

whirrrr, whirrrr.... clonk.... whirrr, whirrr...

pretty darn cool doggy :)

Chad's morphs are pretty neat too.

Chad is a hell of a man!

The dog looks so awesome!
As always, it is beyond smooth. I love how he even slows down when facing forwards.
Although his right foot does seem to go through a stage much faster than the rest.

How long does something small but detailed like his take you?

Thanks Goaty! This took a few hours... I've been getting quicker lately, I think it's because I've been doing more life drawing and figure rotations. A couple of years ago I wouldn't have even attempted it.

That dog spins like a fackin pro. Holy sheet.

thanks stickystickstickmcgee! shpinning right round baby... :D
