Yeah, there would probably be no newgrounds without Tex Avery paving the way, but there wouldn't be anything in between either. The style of newgrounds is pretty hard to define, but I see what you're trying to say that Tex Avery was just doing his thing and changing the status quo of animation and newgrounds kind of does that too, to a certain extent.

But damn his stuff still holds up. He's definitely the best cartoon director of all time.

I don't think Newground's style has much to do with the legacy that is avery's... I'd say it had more to do with the immature minds of Tom Fulp and Stamper, plus a few other people willing to cross lines of social acceptance and farce, in the sites childhood years. Without somebody else getting grosed out or angry at this site, it never would have grown the way it did.... It's edge was it's edge. ;)

Avery was similar. VERY SIMILAR. And he probably was one who warped the minds of many kids from his debut of cartoons till around when I was a kid watching cartoons. By that I mean you can probably only see his work on youtube or boomerang now a days. I used to watch Looney Toons every day as a kid and even the Tex Avery Show. I'm 22 now. Back then, Cartoon network praised Tex several times a year, with informational tidbits and commercials... So I know about him like many kids of the 90's. Most kids with TV watched Cartoon network, and they had a good glimpse of his work, weather or not they know it.

The fact is that our youth is like clay and it does get completely molded by our surrondings... ...

I think it's safe to say that tex played a part in many peoples lives up until late this decade. But newgrounds style was mostly built up from a new style known as pushing the bar: Violence, Spam, Cock jokes, Blood, Gore, and poop are what built newgrounds from the ground up. Avery's style was more or less aimed at adults watching his stuff. I don't think many adults know what Newgrounds is.

My two cents... I don't usually care enough to add them to anything. But I liked what you had to say Boogley.
