I've been rotoscoping! This is my dog, Turtle...
I filmed her at 30fps with my digital camera, imported
the .mov video into flash, then traced each frame.
I find this is a great way to learn how she moves.
I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the
footage once it's traced, but I'm learning heaps!

Animation is the imagination laid bare for all to see, our own personal constructed realities shared with others, story telling in it's purest form, or just a bunch of funny shit drawn for people to laugh their arses off to. It's all good.

Rotoscoping is amazing for learning the natural movements of things. I've tried it before to get the feeling for stuff.
Yours looks phenominal. I've never tried with basic colors. It seems to actually make it better.
But just to see, could you pick out a color for your dog, and maybe 1 more for the color. I'd like to see how this looks colored.

She's a Jack Russell, completely insane. We have another dog, Gary, who is bigger and more mellow. He just kind of hangs around and puts up with her, then every now and then goes on a rampage of insanity!

That's really cool and I did the exact same thing with people walking and doing stuff, turns our strangely awesome everytime and it's something you could really use in a Flash animation and get people amazed.
yeah, the hard part is getting interesting footage to work from, and knowing how to make each movement work in animation helps.
