A bunch of looping movie clips?
That would probably crash someone's computer.
Animation is the imagination laid bare for all to see, our own personal constructed realities shared with others, story telling in it's purest form, or just a bunch of funny shit drawn for people to laugh their arses off to. It's all good.

yours hopefully :P
oh, i just watched that animation, and i was like 'O SHI-'
Best animation I ever saw!
ARGH!
I KNOW! I saw it on the big screen at the Melbourne animation festival, and out of the five days of constant films it was the best! :D
bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla there is nudity and a sex scene in it. :3
well dude as soon as you start this shit be sure to call your friendly neighbor emanhotten!
I'll call you... but why do you always spell your name wrong? :3
You should put the collabs on youtube :)
I checked the other day, and someone already has... and it's all grainy and shitty. :3
if we actually do such a flash is going to be a big challenge. we all would have to sinchrinize our works you know.
I know... But what I'm thinking is that we don't keep it as tight as crazy old Zbig. I'll draw up a scene, probably a street scene, then everyone animates something happening and sends it to me, then I put it together making sure that none of them overlap in a strange way. Whataya think?
cool
loop
Thanks for the video, looking forward to yours.
skankles is fun to say! skankles!skankles!skankles! :3
The Morphing orgasm hes all gone too plan and it was a amazing
this one might not so much, it's not as simple a concept...
its a cool idea dude. still, it would be awesome if we made loops that sinchronise one person´s work with another´s like in that video where a dude steals a bag and another one places it almost at the same time.
unlike morphing orgasm, in wich you only had to work with someone else´s artwork, this forces you to WORK with someone else´s sequence of drawings!
Its a very exciting idea.
an exiting idea which still needs fleshing out... :)
This movie is the coolest thing ever!
I can imagine it took that long to plan!
Each time the kid with the ball has certain pauses, or moves and slower speeds. So the first time your like, why?
But as more and more things are added, you see it only works that way.
I can't imagine how you would do this.
You would either have to plan the entire movie yourself, and assign people parts (which would be too constrictive)
Or, make a scene with 1 clip going. Then ask people to make a new one to add. Then one you have 2 clips, ask everyone to try and make a third. Picking the best each time.
It may take longer, and discourage some people.
But you will get a much nicer, much more creative scene
hmm... I like it Goat-Man, but I don't want to control it that much... I think what might happen is that everyones sends stuff in randomly, and I create some complex interactions to make the whole thing gel together... I won't make any parts other than ones which work with other peoples... Otherwise we'd have to email fla files back and forth which would be slow and painful.
Collaborations have to be fun, or there's no point.
i always wondered.....what brush smoothness do you use when your drawing.....and what flash do u use?
For this one I'm using 35, which looks hand drawn and a little crusty, If I want it smoother and cleaner I use 40-45. I use CS3, and can't wait to get my hands on CS4 with the rigging system for tweening puppet characters.
That's right, I like to tween! :D
I'm a nerd and I watched the whole thing...
That would be awesome in flash!
and the possibilities are endless! :D
endless? really? excellent! :D
I'd totally want in on that type of collab! It sounds so damn interesting but I still think you have to think of a better way of syncing it rather than everyone send stuff in randomly. Main reason is cause the beauty of the movie above is that the people pass in front and behind each other constantly which gives it the crowded room feel.
impossible... it cannot be done as a collab that way... fatal error. :|
I have tango on dvd. something like that is totally doable. You can basically just create a room like that one and have people add things one by one. Nice idea.
Yeah, I nearly had to buy the dvd too, because Zbig keeps deleting it off youtube. But then I found this one in Japanese, hopefully he doesn't find it... shhhh...
I'll probably still buy the dvd to watch the rest of his work.
Do you think you'd be able to make a part for it?
this may be a stupid question, but the collaborators won't be sending in movie clips but animations too right? i ask because i know a few people on newgrounds actually do just film submissions. it seems like you'd just have to be able to control the length and the actual screen size of the loops. knowing the people on newgrounds, this will turn out pretty interesting if everyone is allowed to submit any random thing they can think of. although it would be interesting to figure out how to interact with other people's segments. i think that's what made the BMO so much fun, we all got to play with other people's work.
ooo, what if we could all write down an idea for a loop and someone else has to animate it? o_0
dear god sucho, you're freaking me out with these brilliant ideas! Keep talking, I'm listening... Maybe we should start a forum on how this crazy thing is going to work! :D
sure, let me know when you're starting the project.
Will do! :D
idea(s)? i don't remember making it plural. unless you're talking about my idea for parachute pants. those bastards said they'd credit me. seriously though, i wanna keep on top of anything you end up collaborating, the fact that these seem to involve direct cooperation between artists is what makes it unique, and even if its subliminal, i think the viewers can sense that. it'd be great to carry that on for future projects.

1 the action of working with someone to produce or create something : he wrote on art and architecture in collaboration with John Betjeman. %u2022 something produced or created in this way : his recent opera was a collaboration with Lessing.
2 traitorous cooperation with an enemy : he faces charges of collaboration.
I like the idea of the second definition.
That video was amazing. The way they animated it so that all of the people had their own designated path in which they wouldn't collide with any of the other people on accident. And it would be extra sweet in the '80s because how hard it would be to do that by hand.
Also notify me when the collab starts, Boogs. Thank yew :3
Will do, and you're yelcome! ;3
ixnay on the raitoroustay ooperationcay o_o. we'll talk about our... "date" with... "bea arthur" to.... "destroy certain intelligence outposts around hallucinagenic mushroom farms to later re-route and feed to the masses in pattymelts" later.
Phew! That was close... :O
