Animation is the imagination laid bare for all to see, our own personal constructed realities shared with others, story telling in it's purest form, or just a bunch of funny shit drawn for people to laugh their arses off to. It's all good.

slow progress is still progress I guess...

Hey, It's been a slow week of animation for me. I'm not feeling too inspired and I'm very busy with other work so what are you gonna do? What I have done I'm pretty happy with though and before last week I was working like a machine, so I guess I'm due for some down time.

so, since I'm not doing all that much, I thought I'd show you the work of someone who has, Nick Cross. He's made two fantastic short films in the classic 40's style which are absolutely beautiful.

Yellow Cake is my personal favourite. It deals with some big issues... cake issues.

.

The Waif of Persephone is also amazing, it gets real evil and freaky too

.
/* */
And just to show you that he's not all doom and gloom, he made this clip about kites for Yo Gabba Gabba

.

MrScriblam just told me about nick's newest project and that he is looking for donations to help find it. Perhaps some of you nice people might wanna donate to it! ZekeySpaceyLizard is among the people donating.

this guy looks how I'm feeling... well, I'm not all that bothered really because I'm going to go to China some time in the next few months to dance and eat peking duck!

slow progress is still progress I guess...

You sure know some great cartoons!

It's very John K. Inspired isn't it? The guy who did Ren and Stimpy.

Anyhoo - Happy Valentines Day.

yeah, very John K, but with more heart

ALL PRAISE DA FLOWA! (Untill it turns into a bitch :b)

harsh but fair

I didn't know about it, but now you have kind of taken care of it for me :)

the cats in the yellow cake movie look like germans

says you

Great selection, as usual.
The meanings in them are both really strong (obviously not the yo gabba gabba one.
although the lyrics of the song in the Kite one are surprising, at points.

Kites are deep :)

all of these were great thanks for sharing boogleh

sharing is fun, sharing is fun, sharing is fun, sharing is fun,

i left one of my socks at your place last night. i was thinking we could catch up sometime this week and i could get it back?

Oh that was your sock? I thought it was my cock warmer

Amazed, I am. Where do you find all this stuff?

I've been trawling through people I respect's likes on vimeo and Newgrounds for over a year now and constantly find amazing stuff. I also go to our yearly animation festival here in Melbourne and hang out with people who tell me about stuff.

Nick Cross is awesome! First time ive seen the Yo Gabba Gabba one

He did another one for them too, you can find it on his vimeo page.

How can you not feel inspired by those godly animated videos? D:

Well, try music instead. This one is one of my favorites.

I'm loving that crackling sound, thanks for the link it's beautiful

@TheBoogley
sorry mate i'm dutch.

no problem, my wife's family is dutch. I was just being silly

Yeah, definitely more contemporary than 1940's. 1940s makes me think of Tom and Jerry and the pear shaped madness of the Silly Symphonies and Loony Tunes.

yeah... okay

did you find my cock warmer?

I'm wearing it on my foot

It turns out slow progress is actually negative progress. Weird.

aww :(

slave

salve

You're not planning on eating Peking Duck from The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat are you?

the very same :)

Eammy says:

I do not know how such brainwashing filth such as Yo Gabba Gabba get on australian tv. The repetitiveness is infuriating. THE REPETITIVENESS IS INFURIATING!!!

eammy you're fucking gay

You shouldn't judge him, just because he's wrong.
Has YoGabbaGabba taught you nothing? :3

Going to China! I'm jealous. I've been to Hong Kong, and I love it there. The food is AMAZING.

good news! I can't wait to get my hands on some Peking duck! :D

lol how do you find all of these so often???
they're great by the way.

now I notice you have a new animation. I will go watch that!

I keep an eye out, always watching... always

Take as much time as you need. I cant wait..

err... I am in pain
