Nice narration!
I can just see this as a children's bedtime story...

haha I guess so :D
Billy and Jimmy Lee!!
They are such a pair of schtup-farts, and I think you captured their quiet intensity perfectly. You forgot the burp sound effect for when a character dies. Yes that's right, they really used a burp in the actual game. Now to watch the rest of your crazy movies...
Thank god for captain bucket!
I thought she was doomed, but then.... BAM!! :D
Funny stuff Joe. Funny stuff.
Thanks!
Beautiful pacing.
The whole thing felt so lyrical and poetic. Put me in a mellow state that I can hopefully hold onto for the rest of the day. Thank you. :)
CREATIVE TIMES!!
That was so, so, SO... I don't know what to say. I love you. It's as simple as that.
I want to have a million of your babies. :3
Not really, I just really like the technique you've come up with here.
Maybe just one baby, we'll call him Roy and feed him chocolate sprinkles.
A Cinematic Masterpiece!
The shots were brilliant and used some hugely creative methods to bring a real sense of space into a 2D animation environment. I loved it! :D
thanks a lot
It's the beez kneez baby!! :D
You've brought that new drawing style of yours into animation... and I say, YES!
You've shown how tweens should be used too, everyone must take notes...
I'm entangled in its web!
It sucked me in and wouldn't let me go... then it finished and I was free again, and all the wiser for the experience.
The contrast of the vector character interacting with all of the scanned background elements was interesting and I loved the effect you used when the bird god took hold of him.
thanks boogley! I think I need to do some more stuff with scanning, I haven't been back to that in a while.
typography's awesome?
That's the most untrue thing I've ever heard. And don't give me any of that, "but I love type" stuff. You are wrong, pure wrong.
Great movie by the way, it's a strong theme you've developed here, with large visual metaphors alluding to a meaning which can't be pinned down. Making its meaning subjective for each viewer.
what!?
Im not sure if you're being ironic here about the typography or not but I sure hope you are! :)
I'm leaving a response...
Because you told me to.
I likes the colours and the use of text, and the horseshoe shaped guy moved beautifully. These movies your making kind of remind me of some of the John and Faith Hubley animations they made after having to go underground during the Mcarthyist communist hunting days...

There. A response. I hope you're happy. :(
Im very happy! that was a really wonderful short film you linked, I loved it. I thought it was really neat the way they had two kids voice the whole thing to make it sound almost improvisational, really good.
Their characters remind me a lot of Andrew Kauervane's stuff, the way the whole thing is filled and the defining lines are erased instead of just drawing the defining lines.
I'm sure you know about him but JUST IN CASE

thanks for the response boogley. you've got such an insane wealth of animation knowledge, its very impressive!
Animation is the imagination laid bare for all to see, our own personal constructed realities shared with others, story telling in it's purest form, or just a bunch of funny shit drawn for people to laugh their arses off to. It's all good.
